Solax Power is renowned for providing advanced solar technology, superior efficiency and reliability. Please find answers to any questions and information on our Monthly Subscriptions right here. If you have any additional questions please don't hesitate to contact us.
HOW OUR MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION WORKS:
1. Subscription Overview:
• Our monthly subscriptions are based on an evergreen contract where subscribers pay for the use of the equipment until the subscriber decides to cancel the subscription.
• Ownership of the solar equipment remains that of The PPA Company.
• Subscription terms are a minimum of 54 months.
• A decommission (uninstall) fee of R12 000.00 applies should you cancel within the 54 months.
• If subscribers decide to sell the home, the contract will come to an end.
• The subscriber may elect to obtain an exit price value, or the buyer may elect to enter into a new subscription agreement. The solar equipment is not deemed a fixture.
2. Subscription Fee:
• Fees are paid monthly and include VAT.
• Payments are due on the 1st of each month.
• We have 4 options available for you to choose from. Please ask a consultant for help on selecting the correct package for your home.
• Monthly subscription will escalate by 7,5% per annum.
• An Admin/Activation fee to the same value of the monthly amount of the package you choose is required upfront. This is a once off payment.
3. Maintenance:
• Ownership of the equipment remains with Solax Energy, who therefore covers the maintenance including: Online monitoring, technical support, data report capturing, and settings as well as surge protection AC & DC breakers installed by us.
• Solax Energy is responsible for the Warranty of the Solax equipment, i.e., Inverter and Battery/ies. The Warranty on Panels covers failure alone.
• Insurance is mandatory and for the subscriber's account.
4. System Upgrades:
Upgrading the system may be done at any point through written consent. Any upgrades may only be carried out by The PPA Company and not by any third party.
5. Installation:
• The admin fee is payable before installation can continue.
• After the contract is signed our team will arrive at your home to do a physical site inspection. The inverter and battery/ies will be installed within 5 meters of the DB board, if further, a quotation for additional cabling will be provided for settling before installation.
• Should meters not be compatible with the Solax system, the subscriber is responsible for the replacement/upgrade.
• All solar equipment is installed according to SSEG regulation and comes with a supplementary C.O.C.
• Once the installation design has been approved, your system could be installed within 14 days from the signed contract.
NB: An Electrical C.O.C of your home is required before we can install our equipment. Non-compliant DB boards will need to be rectified by a qualified electrician before installation may commence, causing a delay in timeframe.
If you are happy to continue the journey of becoming less dependent on the grid, kindly contact us on 010 745 4122 or Whatsapp us on 063 610 5034 or alternatively, confirm if we should send you the online consent form to fill in, granting us permission to do the required Credit and Affordability vetting.
If you have any questions, please let us know. We are always happy to assist.
WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE SOLAX?
Solax systems operate in High Voltage (vs Low Voltage).
High Voltage system are fast charging (from 0.5 to 1.5 hours!) to make electricity from solar energy available at night or low sun time vs the need to fall back onto the national grid. Solax uses LFP HV (high voltage) batteries (vs Lithium Ion) which utilize iron phosphate which makes them less prone to thermal runaway. A phenomenon that can lead to overheating, fires and even explosions.
WHY IS HIGH VOLTAGE BETTER?
High voltage systems have higher energy density compared to low voltage systems: This allows longer runtime without putting strain on equipment.
High voltage systems have reduced currents: This means decreased power losses due to resistive heating, minimizing energy waste and improving overall efficiency of the system.
High voltage systems are safer: As mentioned above, they are less prone to thermal runaway, a phenomenon that could cause overheating, fires and even explosions.
COMMON QUESTIONS:
1. WHAT PAYMENTS AM I LIABLE FOR?
A one time activation fee equal to your monthly payment.
Monthly debit orders for the Solar Subscription selected.
2. WHAT IS THE SOLAR SUBSCRIPTION PERIOD?
Solar subscription period is an evergreen subscription model that allows for a long term energy plan with the PPA company. Our consultants will provide guidelines of agreement during consultation.
3. CAN I CANCEL MY SUBSCRIPTION AT ANY TIME?
The power purchase subscription is an evergreen subscription but does allow for early termination on certain conditions. Our expert consultants will provide more information on the above.
4. CAN I HAVE A SOLAR SUBSCRIPTION IF I RENT A PROPERTY?
Yes, you just need to inform the owner of the property and will require his written consent.
5. HOW WILL MY SYSTEM BE MAINTAINED DURING THE SUBSCRIPTION?
Each subscription will receive a yearly onsite maintenance check including cleaning of your panels, system settings and safety checks on all surge protection devices and pull a data report of total consumption used for the year. All subscriptions are monitored online aswell as a whatsapp hotline number to offering you full support.
6. CAN I MAKE MY SYSTEM BIGGER AT SOME POINT?
Yes, due to the fact that Solax is an integrated manufacturer it allows for a number of system capacity upgrades such as 150% solar panel capacity and additional storage capacity (T's & C's apply)
7. WHAT ABOUT INSURANCE?
The insurance is part of the responsibility of the subscriber who is required to add it onto their home owners insurance - our consultant will guide you through the process.
8. HOW DO MANAGED LOADS WORK WITH SOLAX?
Solax inverters have built in energy monitoring capabilities to track the amount of energy being generated by the solar panels. This data is used to determine the available surplus energy that can be utilized for managed loads.
Control electrical loads with smart scheduling. Adjust the power output to these loads based on available surplus energy from the solar panels. Set specific time periods or load thresholds for when certain appliances or devices should be powered.
9. CAN I MANAGE LOADS FROM THE SOLAX PLATFORM?
Yes, the system allows for a device to be connected such as your heat pump, geyser element or swimming pool pump. You can then manage and monitor remotely as well as applying automated features to enhance the effectiveness of the system.
10. WHY CAN SOLAX INCLUDE A 10 YEAR WARRANTY?
All Solax system components are fully integrated to only Solax systems and are manufactured with Tier one components making them less prone to failure. Being high voltage, Solax systems do not need to work harder in order to produce results. Thus knowing with confidence that Solax systems are able to last over and beyond the 10 year threshold.
11. CAN SOLAX SYSTEM WORK WITH EV CARS FOR FUTURE INTEGRATION?
Absolutely, Solax manufactures their own range of EV chargers to suit all international adapters and is fully compliant. An easy plug into your Solax system and you will have your EV charger up and running and on the same app. Upgrades are available.
12. ARE THE SOLAX SYSTEMS NRS COMPLIANT?
Yes, all the Solax systems have the NRS certification and are also part of the preferred systems list in the city of Cape Town solar program.
13. DOES THE SOLAX SYSTEM OFFER AI POSSIBILITIES?
One of the great features currently being introduced to all Solax systems is the ability for software to read weather patterns. When storms approach it will force charge your batteries to allow for full battery capacity in adverse weather conditions. AI - smart functionality.
