Solax Energy's extensive experience with current legislation, Power Purchase Agreements and installation of turnkey solar solutions makes us the ideal partner in your energy transition.

Solax Energy has helped hundreds of businesses in South Africa become more self sufficient with solar solution installations.

Recent Projects:

ACADEMIC SECTOR

Nelson Mandela University
The installed solar plant will generate 1MW of sustainable electricity and reduce the overall grid demand by 40%.

COMMERCIAL

Tagex South Africa
A hybrid system was installed with two inverters in parallel, enabling a power system capable of supplying 90% of the building's consumption.

DEVELOPMENT & CONSTRUCTION

Blue Berry Lane
A residential development with a micro-inverter to supply the homes and complex with excess electricity to reduce the amount of electricity purchased from the municipality.

RETAIL SHOPPING CENTRES

Meat Choice
This installation encompasses a grid-tied and hybrid PV. Hybrid inverters are grid-tied for the bulk of the day but deploy stored energy during expensive peak tariff hours.

INDUSTRIAL & MANUFACTURING

Lixil Africa
Phase 1 includes generator integration and independent monitoring of municipal consumption to optimise Phase 2 installation for maximum demand reduction and power factor improvement.

AGRICULTURAL

Grootvlei Kuikens
This solar energy project was installed in an agricultural setting in the Midvaal area to provide maximised solar benefit to the client.

Operational sectors:

ACADEMIC SECTOR

Formal institutions and organizations can lower costs of buying electricity, reduce carbon footprints and become leaders in energy research and development.
Twenty-four hour facilities and residences are able to reduce consumption and expense.

COMMERCIAL

Commercial business owners can install solar Photovoltaic systems on site for own use and feed excess solar electricity back to the grid.
The solar electricity yielded from the Photovoltaic system would bring in sustainable economic savings.

DEVELOPMENT & CONSTRUCTION

Lifestyle estates offering alternative and renewable energy sources like solar energy are high on buyers' list of requirements.
Zero fuel input costs make solar energy generation more cost-effective in the construction sector.

RETAIL SHOPPING CENTRES

Increased monthly electricity tariffs are a hard reality in the retail sector. Rand per kilowatt for electricity to run equipment is continually increasing.
Solar power will reduce dependency on municipal electricity, and reduce energy bills.

INDUSTRIAL & MANUFACTURING

Emissions political pressure, extreme weather and unstable supply make access to independent energy sources inevitable.
Most South African companies have been forced to investigate and invest in alternative energy sources or self-generation.

AGRICULTURAL

As with Industry, extreme weather and unstable supply make reliance on independent energy sources inevitable. Photovoltaic plants have no moving parts and require very little maintenance making solar energy a good choice within the large open spaces of agricultural environments.

Solar configurations:

EMBEDDED ONSITE

HOW IT WORKS:
Generation and supply of electricity primarily for own internal use.
Embedded generation facilitates connection to the power grid for additional and/or backup electricity supply.

GRID-TIED

HOW IT WORKS:
Synchronized with local electrical infrastructure in order to supply electricity to the premises, or back to the grid to which it's connected.

GRID-TIED WITH GENERATOR

HOW IT WORKS:
Allowing the Photovoltaic system to operate in parallel with an installed generator.
This can be done as an emergency power solution or with generators as sole or supplementary source of power.

HYBRID
SYSTEMS

HOW IT WORKS:
Combining multiple sources of energy to supply the client with the most cost-effective source of electricity depending on their real-time requirements and available sources.
